Cereals 2010 preview
Your chance to join the CFE campaign
THE Campaign for the Farmed Environment (CFE) partnership has put together an informal stand at Cereals to enable farmers and land managers to access information and practical advice on how to participate in the campaign.
Visit stand number 717 to meet local CFE co-ordinators and farmer chairman, who will be there to provide with advice on how to take part in the initiative, says Corrina Gibbs, CFE co-ordinator.
All CFE partners are involved in the trial and other organisations including HGCA, Grow-how and Velcourt are also supporting the campaign, and will be supplying information on their stands.
“Many of these stands are showcasing some of the key Entry Level Stewardship (ELS) options and CFE voluntary measures to provide a practical demonstration about whatthe CFE is seeking to achieve,” she says.
There will also be CFE seminars at the Arable Conference at Cereals, being held in partnership with the Oxford Farming Conference.
Natural England will be providing information and advice on Environmental Stewardship, including ELS agreement renewals, online applications (demonstrations will be available at Cereals) and HLSopportunities.
ELS options
Advisers will be on hand to answer questions and there will be a farm scale model on display to help demonstrate a wide range of ELS options.
Natural England is supporting the Campaign for Farmed Environment, and will be part of the campaign trail at the event.
Natural England is working in partnership with Kings Game Cover and Conservation Crops, who will be demonstrating various CFE and Environmental Stewardship options, including pollen and nectar mixes, grass margins and wild bird seed mixes on their crop plots at the Cereals event .
