THERE was a strong demand for well fleshed, commercially focused ram lambs at the first Suffolk Sheep Society sale of the season, the National sale at Shrewsbury, which peaked at 10,000gns.
WITH most farms reporting more lambs on the ground because of favourable conditions in the spring, entry numbers at the opening seasonal store lamb show and sale at Skipton were at 4,087-head, well above last year’s 2,231 entries.

The dairy breed and inter-breed classes are now complete here at the gloriously sunny Royal Welsh Show.
A very strong, both in number and quality, commercial beef section was judged by Richard Wright, Somerton, who awarded the supreme title to the champion heifer, Too Cool To Fool, owned by Colin and Lisa Brooke, Worcestershire.
