THERE was an exceptionally good turnout of buyers from all parts of the country at Malton’s early show and sale of breeding sheep and store lambs. Prices were up £20 per head on the year, with a particular demand for Suffolk cross gimmer shearlings.
CHAMPIONSHIP and reserve at Skipton’s young handler’s prime lamb show and sale on Monday went to the older and youngest competitors.

THE hot weather continued at Border Union Show, Kelso, with stewards allowing exhibitors to take their sheep off the show field straight after the inter-breed championship to escape the blazing sun.
NEW this year is competition for the best pen of sheep from within any breed society stand, that is true to type and provides the best commercial representation of it’s breed.
