WOODIES Wriggley, from Stuart Wood, Westhill, Aberdeenshire, took the pre-sale show championship at the Beltex Sheep Society sale at Carlisle. It then went on to sell for what is thought to be a breed record for a ewe lamb of 7,000gns.
A new market record was set at Wigton’s primestock show and sale when the champion lambs sold for £450/head.

It was a third sheep championship win in four years for David and Linda Wadland, Aston le Walls, when they took the overall, continental, pure-bred and exhibitor-bred titles with a pair of pure Texels weighing 91kg which had also taken the supreme award at the English Winter Fair.
