Royal Welsh: New organic dairy company makes its debut
Among a number of Welsh food and drink companies – some making their public debut – stepping into the Royal Welsh Show limelight was a dairy farming couple from West Wales.
Elfyn and Rhian Davies, who operate as Sancler Organic, are producing a range of yogurt cheeses from their 40-cow pedigree Meuse-Rhine-Issel Glancynin herd at St Clears, in Carmarthenshire.
From small beginnings they have expanded rapidly to the extent that they are shortly to increase the customer base and move to a new processing unit at Food Centre Wales, Horeb.
Based on a traditional recipe discovered by chance and ideal for dipping, spreading and cooking there are now four flavours – natural, basil and garlic, chives, and dill and mint.
