Road Test: BMW X5 M
BMW’s X5 range is to get an M-powered high performance model in the guise of the X5 M.
It means a twin-turbo, 4.3-litre petrol V8 finds its way into the German maker’s flagship 4x4, delivering 555hp and 680Nm of torque from 1,500-5,650rpm – it’s almost enough to defy physics, as the two-tonne X5 M is propelled from 0-62mph in just 4.7 seconds using BMW’s most powerful engine.

It even gets launch control to manage those speedy starts effectively and ensure tyres don’t smoke themselves to a crisp. As for the stock trailer, it’ll now need to be packed a little more tightly.
