RABDF repeats call for an effective national body
THE sustainability and profitability of the UK dairy farming sector is of more importance than any of the individual organisations within it suggests the RABDF.
And as such the organisation has repeated its pledge that it is willing to be subsumed into a bigger and more effective national body if that is what it takes to achieve sustainability and profitability.
“One of my intents as RABDF chairman is to urge our fragmented dairy sector to work together more cohesively and subsequently develop a stronger and united voice,” said Lyndon Edwards.
He said he also felt there was room for further consolidation as well as innovation within the processing sector and further co-operation between the co-ops.
But he also suggested there were major inefficiencies between farmer owned and run organisations within the supply industry but said the RABDF always sought to avoid duplication wherever possible by working closely with other industry bodies like Dairy UK, NFU, CLA and TFA.
