Prince of Wales donates money to farm charities

THE Prince of Wales has made a donation to two charities helping farmers affected by the collapse of the Dairy Farmers of Britain.

Dairy Farmers of Britain recently went into receivership, leaving hundreds of small farmers facing severe financial hardship as they struggle to find a processor to buy their milk.

The two charities to benefit are the ARC-Addington Fund and Farm Crisis Network. The Prince also supported these charities in 2007 as farmers struggled with the aftermath of foot-and-mouth disease.

While a spokeswoman for the Prince could not disclose the sum of money offered she said it was ‘substantial’.
