MUSIC icon, Sir Paul McCartney, has been taken to task for flying from London to Brussels for EU talks in support of his anti-meat eating and save the climate campaign.
“While we were in the EU Parliament building arguing in favour of a commonsense approach to land use and climate change, the former Beatle was in the same building doing exactly the opposite,” said Farmers Union of Wales president, Gareth Vaughan.
“The other main difference was that we travelled there and back by train, so the word hypocrisy springs easily to mind.
“I am confident the carbon footprint of our farm fades into insignificance alongside the hundreds of transatlantic journeys undertaken by Sir Paul over the years.”

Typical greenhouse emissions for meat consumption on a western diet is equivalent to about 3.5 hours flying. Sometimes there is no choice but to fly, but there is never a reason to est meat.
