VW’s new Amarok pick-up truck will not hit UK van centres until September 2010, but there are plenty of specifications to drool over.
Due to be available in both single and double-cab versions, the Amarok brings a 1.15-tonne payload, 2.8-tonne towing capacity and generous load bed. A full four wheel drive system, called 4Motion is optional and all versions get a six-speed manual transmission and off-road low ratios. Power comes from two-litre Tdi engines rated at 122hp and 163hp.
