Monster Raving Loonies plan to embrace badgers
WHEN the England team steps out onto the pitch at Rustenburg on June 12 for their World Cup opener they could be sporting a new symbol for the fans to get behind – three badgers.
That’s according to the Monster Raving Looney party, which has included the pledge in its series of daft and whacky policies for this years election manifesto.
The manifesto says: “It is proposed that we change the English symbol of three lions to 3 badgers.
“How often do you see lions running round the countryside, we should be proud of the lack of wild and interesting species on our fair isle.”
Another pledge promises to ban tractors on the roads, claiming farmers can instead ‘drive across their fields’.
The party will be up against the Lib Dem agriculture spokesman Roger Williams in Brecon and Radnor as Lord Offa (real name Chris Rogers) challenges for a seat in Westminster.
Lord Offa, from Llandrindod Wells, includes among his proposals plans to declare Powys and independent state as well as a vast array of mad policies from the party manifesto.
