LAMMA bigger and better for 2010

LAMMA has vowed to resolve the traffic problems that were encountered on the first day of this year’s event at the Newark Showground.

Member of the LAMMA committee, Cliff Preston, said that they are already contacting the various organisations to try and smooth traffic flow as well as introducing measures on the showground itself.

The queues which mainly affected traffic coming from the A1 were caused by a number of factors all happening at once.

There were roadworks and an accident on the A1 as well as the large volume of visitors attending on the first day due to the favourable weather forecast which coincided with rush hour traffic.

Comments from users of the British Farming Forum suggest that the Newark Showground is still the ideal location and those travelling from the Lincoln side were not affected.

As for calls for a three-day event, this is doubtful as it is felt that the first day would still be the busiest and there would be increased costs to exhibitors, which would have particular implications for smaller businesses.

Mr Preston added that a good number of exhibitors have already booked space for next year’s event which takes place on January 20 -21 and there are a number of enquiries from potential first time exhibitors.
