Krone Easy Cut 320 CV-Q – Adaptable Easy Cut impresses
Improved contour following and increased working widths means modern mounted mower conditioners have a lot to offer. MERVYN BAILEY tests the Krone Easy Cut 320 CV-Q.
Launched last year, one of the main features of the Krone Easy Cut CV-Q is that it folds vertically over centre for transport helping spread the weight across the tractor’s rear axle.
There are two models to choose form in the range – the 280 and 320 – with respective working widths of 2.71m and 3.14m.
We used the mower conditi-oner on a range of four-cylinder tractors which had no problem powering it on light to medium crops. Even on some slopes the tractors could handle the mower once there was enough pressure in the tyres.
Overall, we were impressed by the Easy Cut, it’s central pivot did a good job of allowing the mower to follow ground contours even some badly rutted land. It is also easy to set up.
But it is not all perfect. Personally I would prefer a different breakback arrangement and some tweaks to the front canvas cover improving access to the bed when changing blades.
