Jack Davies
I joined Farmers Guardian in 2007 as a graduate trainee, fresh out of University where I studied for an MA in journalism. I had initially flirted with a career as a research scientist, but got no further than completing a degree in applied biology before I decided to do something a little more exciting. I’ve filled a few roles here since 2007, as acting business editor for six months before moving over to the news desk as senior reporter and today, looking after this here website from our offices in London while still contributing to the news pages of the paper where I can. I grew up in London and spend part of my childhood in southern Africa so had never really been to a farm before I joined FG – in fact, 2007 marked the first time I had ever put on a pair of wellies! But I quickly became fascinated by the industry and am still amazed by some of the great stories which come out of it.
