Harper Adams to spread the green message
ONE of Britain’s leading agricultural colleges has been awarded £75,000 to help spread its green message to other educational institutions.
Harper Adams University College is ahead of the game on green thinking having already measured its carbon footprint and come up with innovative ways to reduce its emissions, including a new anaerobic digestion plant to convert farm and food waste into biogas.
The funding will now allow the college to help other institutions to develop their own carbon management plans.
Dr Anna Aronsson, a project leader, said: “The project team will deliver workshops and seminars at the participating institutions to share the knowledge and experience that the University College has gained through its own carbon management strategies.”
The project is funded by the Leadership, Governance and Management (LGM) Fund of the Higher Education Funding Council of England (HEFCE).
Dr Aronson said the funding ‘recognises the efforts that Harper Adams is continuing to make to reduce its carbon emissions’.
