Beef Stockman winner steers business in new direction
CUMBRIAN farmer Ian Bell is the winner of the Farmers Guardian/NBA Beef Stockman of the Future 2012 and was awarded his trophy and cash prize at Wednesday’s (May 23, 2012) Beef Expo dinner.

THIS year’s competition was judged by David Thirwell (Beef Stockman of the Future 2011), Philip Dale (NBA cattle health committee chairman and farm manager for Paul Rackham) and Katie Lomas (Farmers Guardian livestock editor).

Winning the Northumberland YFC county pantomime final was an achievement in itself. The standard is always very high and we had just lost our producer, Gillian Nixon, to cancer three weeks before the competition. We dedicated the performance to her, as we have every show we have put on since.
