Dairy farmer's son wins RWAS scholarship award
WINNER of this year’s Royal Welsh Agricultural Society’s Student Scholarship Award is Samuel Carey, Godre’r Grogwy, Rhoshill, Pembrokeshire.
A dairy farmer’s son, he has a variety of interests on and off the farm - including amateur boxing - and after leaving Preseli High School followed an FdSc (equivalent to HND) course at the Harper Adams University College, spending a year’s placement with David Christienson at Kingston Hill Farm, in Oxfordshire.
His final year project has seen him studying the possibility of diversifying on the home farm and setting up a regional soft cheese business, while returning to Harper Adams to study for a BSc degree in agriculture.
