Recipe: Molten hot chocolate sauce
I discovered this stunning sauce a couple of years ago and since then it has become my reliable ‘stand-by’ for so many occasions. For an extra indulgence, just add a splash of liqueur to make it extra special.
Ingredients
7oz (200g) dark chocolate
5fl oz (150ml) double cream
2 tablespoons honey
2oz (50g) salted butter
Method
1. Put all the ingredients in a small, heavy-based pan and melt over a low heat.
2. When almost melted, add three tablespoons boiling water and stir until smooth
3. Serve warm in a dish as a fondue and surround with chopped fruits on skewers or pieces of brownie.
Top tip
You can make this with any kind of chocolate. I often use orange-flavoured for children’s parties or for Valentine’s Day you could use chilli chocolate to spice things up.
