Silver Jubilee for two diversification pioneers
ONE of the pioneers of farm diversification has been celebrating its 25th anniversary in style with a ‘big birthday’ event.
Llaeth y Llan – otherwise known as the Village Dairy – the award-winning Welsh yoghurt company based at Llannefydd, near Denbigh, and owned by husband and wife dairy farmers Gareth and Falmai Roberts, has been producing dessert yoghurts since 1985.
It now has a variety of fruit flavours, from luxurious desserts with a hint of liqueur, to natural and honey yogurt.
Today the company employs 25 employees, produces around 750 tonnes of yogurt a year and supplies the smallest stores to the five main supermarkets nationwide.
