Farmer shot dead by Cumbrian gunman
A FARMER is among those shot dead in a series of shootings in Cumbria, according to reports.
The BBC’s reporter in Whitehaven said the farmer is understood to have been shot dead at point blank range in a field at 11.30am near the village of Gosforth.
There are believed to have been a number of fatalities from the shooting spree, which began just after 10.30am in Whitehaven.
Police have now found a body believed to be of Derrick Bird, who was being hunted over the shootings. The body was found in a wooded area near Boot, where he had earlier abandoned his car, it is being reported.
