Rural health services get cash boost
RURAL health services across Wales have been given an £825,000 shot in the arm from the Welsh Assembly Government.
Projects that will benefit from the Rural Health Innovation Fund include improved access to health and social care services through the use of new technology, collaboration between services, local innovation and national co-ordination.
In all, 13 local projects are to receive a share of £525,000 from the fund, with a further £200,000 for the Hywel Dda and Powys Health Board areas to pilot integrated models of care between health and social care to support rural communities.
A further £100,000 will be allocated for national co-ordination and evaluation of the rural innovation projects.
