Lancashire takes traditional cheese title
A CRUMBLY Lancashire grabbed the attention of the judges and went on to be named this year’s Champion farmhouse/traditional cheese.
Produced by Greenfields Dairy Products in Goosnargh, Preston, the family-run business has been using family recipes to produce cheese since the 1930s.
The company’s history lies in traditional recipes and hand-crafting cheese, but the family has also invested in state-of-the-art packaging machinery and modern production equipment.
Alongside the traditional cheeses, the dairy also produces a range of speciality cheeses, including Wensleydale with cranberries and a Chilli Con Cheddar.
The champion cheese was praised by judges for its ‘good crumbly texture and good acidic flavour’.
