FARMERS wishing to participate in the Campaign for the Farmed Environment or within an Entry Level Stewardship are being given extra help to decide which seed mixtures to use as part of the schemes.
Limagrain UK have launched a 16-page catalogue to help optimise the voluntary requirements of both schemes and ensure farmers select the most appropriate seed mixtures to preserve and encourage bird life.
Entitled ‘Enhancing the Countryside’, the catalogue includes more than 20 seed mixtures categorise according to their suitability for use as wild bird seed mixtures, grass buffers, pollen and nectar providers or catch crops for resource protection.
A selection chart is also included that identifies which are eligible under the different schemes.
