Cash boost for Scottish farmers’ markets
The presence of farmers’ markets in Scotland is set to benefit from new promotion and industry support following the first meeting of the Scottish Farmers’ Market Partnership (SFMP).
Co-ordinating the initiative is the cross-sector Industry Steering Group comprising industry organisations and groups involved in farmers’ markets within Scotland.
This aim of the partnership is to promote, support and build capacity for farmers’ markets in Scotland on a sustainable basis. An initial three-year funding package of £120,000 has been awarded from the Scottish Government to help grow farmers’ markets around the country.
