New trailed option for the Catros
AMAZONE’S Catros compact disc harrow will be offered as a trailed machine in four, five and six metre versions for 2011, it has been announced.
These Catros-2 T versions will have a new design of running gear and rocker arm.
The company say the benefits of this system include a smaller tractor is required up front, as the machine is not lifted on the linkage.
Additionally, there is also increased flexibility in operation, as the machines can be equipped with different packers depending on the field conditions.
During field working, the running gear is folded completely above the operational frame and is not, as often found with some trailed machines, just lifted behind. Amazone adds that the additional weight of the running gear increases implement penetration.
As well as the running gear for transport, the T versions of the Catros will feature a Cat III linkage drawbar and rubber mounted discs, which are adjusted for offset by a handle.
The Catros will now come in 13 types with widths from three to 7.5 metres, in either trailed or mounted format.

As one Defra agency appears to be finally learning the painful lessons of IT rollouts gone wrong, another seems to have walked into the same trap.
