Lamma 2012: McHale’s versatile bale shredder makes UK debut

McHale’s new bale shredder made its UK debut at the show. Launched at Agritechnica, the firm says it can handle any size and type of bale, and can also manage clamped silage.

The company is selling the trailed machines as ‘top-spec’ only. Features include a 360 degree hydraulically-controlled swivel chute, in-cab electric controls and exterior controls for the floor and back door.

Minimum power requirement is 70hp and all the moving parts, (rotor, fly-wheel and floor) can be independently controlled for better control of material and a longer-lasting machine, it says.

A wide angle pto comes as standard, along with a six-paddle fly-wheel and a 48-blade rotor. Retail price is £18,500.
