Scots urged to vaccinate before expiry date
FARMERS in Scotland are being urged to make the most of government-funded bluetongue vaccines before they expire next month.
The stock expires on November 6 and the Scottish Government said it will not be placing any further orders for next year, instead vaccine sales to the open market.
A compulsory vaccination programme has been in place since November last year, and discussions are currently underway to determine whether or not to maintain that into 2010 or to take a voluntary approach as used in England and Wales.
