Learning the history and importance of sheep
MORE than 150 pupils from five local primary schools will be learning about the role, history and importance of the sheep industry to Scotland’s rural economy at NSA Scotsheep.
The Royal Highland Educational Trust has arranged for children from two local primary schools to get a 90-minute tour of the event to learn about the different breeds of sheep and the husbandry and management of a commercial sheep flock.
They will also visit the Quality Meat Scotland and British Wool Marketing Board stands.
Study projects include the importance of food security during the Second World War and the Highland Clearances.
