NFU launches Christmas turkey campaign

THE NFU has launched its annual campaign to promote fresh, British turkey for Christmas.

The campaign, which sees the Union launch its UK Turkeys website, allows consumers to get in touch with around 250 turkey producers in a bid to encourage more people to buy local for their Christmas feast.

It also includes a series of Christmas recipes devised by Jason Palin, a chef director at The Cheshire Cookery School in Altrincham, as well as offering visitors the cha nce to sing along to its ‘12 foods of Christmas’ song.

Helen Cotterill, NFU Online senior web editor, said: “The fact that there are around 250 local producers on the website this year shows how incredibly popular it is with both the public and NFU members.

“Consumers can find all sorts of cooking tips and there’s plenty to appeal to all ages with the ‘Gobbler’ game, ringtones and our very own Christmas song. But most importantly, with so many turkey producers who are NFU members from across every region of England and Wales to choose from you should have no problem finding one near you.”
