EU puts new organic logo to the public vote
THE European Union opened the voting on its new organic logo, giving the public the opportunity to decide which mark will be placed on all pre-packed organic produce from July next year.
The shortlisted three logos were chosen from a total of 3,400 submitted entries as part of a competition which asked students to come up with a new design.
Visitors to the EU website are being asked to pick their favourite before voting closes on January 1, 2010.
The logos were branded ‘dull and uninformative’ by the UK certification body Organic Farmers and Growers which said the designs had missed an opportunity to really connect with the public.

By unlocking the export potential China offers the pig industry, not to mention the red meat sector as a whole, we could gain entry into a marketplace which comprises a fifth of the world’s population.

This just shows that there are far to many people doing far to little in Brussels....what a waste of time and energy

Well, to be fair they were all designed by students, so i don't think there were too many people in Brussels with their crayons out on this one.
At least it engages the public. And better still, an EU organic logo will give producers a label they can market. Good no?

I vote for logo N° 1. It makes me feeling about the European flag we should take benefit from. My only recommendation is to make the organic word more visible which is not the case today
