Costwold grant scheme launched
A NEW £300,000 grant scheme available for landowners, farmers, tenant farmers and local communities has been announced for part of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The new scheme, announced by the Cotswolds Conservation Board and National Grid, is aimed at restoring dry-stone walls along a 5km corridor centred along the route of the Wormington to Sapperton gas pipeline currently being constructed by National Grid.
The funding has been provided for the Board to help conserve and enhance the Cotswolds landscape during and after the construction period. Work on the pipeline began in March and is due to be completed in the autumn, with reinstatement work continuing for some time afterwards.
Further details of the grant scheme, along with an application pack, are available from the Cotswolds Conservation Board on 01451 862000 or by visiting www.cotswoldsaonb.org.uk.
