Tesco launches milk promotion website
TESCO has launched a new dairy website to promote the nutritional benefits of milk.
It also features the Tesco Sustainable Dairy Group (TSDG).
The site, www.tescomilk.com has content for customers and a separate section created specifically for dairy farmers and the wider dairy industry.
Video footage will show customers the journey from farm to fridge with details on milking, transportation, quality assurances, environmental and welfare practices.
Information on Tesco’s Dairy Centre of Excellence at Liverpool University and its latest research is also available along with milk price paid to farmers, profiles and news on TSDG producers.
The magazine-styled site will also include a blog by a farmer’s daughter, Jo North who will write about her day to day life living and working on a family dairy farm in West Sussex.
The separate TSDG area of the website is password protected.
Farmers can access the new code of practice database to monitor their welfare targets in comparison with other farmers in the group.
