US state of Iowa 'favourable' to large-scale farms
IN IOWA, USA, big farms are not considered a nuisance.
A recent study at Iowa State University suggest there is a “modest favourable effect” of large-scale agriculture on quality of life in small towns around the state.
Steve Sapp, professor of sociology said quality of life was defined from residents’ impressions of government services (like police and fire protection, street and park maintenance and rubbish collection) and community services (like medical care and schools).
