Return RLR maps to avoid SPS delay say farming bodies

FARMERS in England must return their updated Rural Land Registry map within 28 days of receipt to safeguard direct and agri-environment payments next year.

Defra, RPA, NFU, CLA and the TFA have joined forces to urge farmers to check their new maps, confirm they accurately reflect the land they claim on, and correct or change and return them to the RPA within four weeks of receiving them.

Farming Minister Jim Fitzpatrick said: “It’s really important for farmers to take this opportunity to ensure the new maps accurately reflect their land.”

The updated mapping information will be used for the Single Payment Scheme, as well as programmes under the Rural Development Programme for England.

Farmers seeking further advice regarding the new mapping data can either contact the RPA or speak directly with RPA representatives at local livestock auction markets.
