Milk price rise from Meadow Foods
Meadow Foods is increasing its producer price by 1ppl from July 1.
But it says any further increases are dependent on the market as a whole now also moving upwards.
The balancing milk and ingredients market supplier says the increase will be added to the flat rate element of the price paid and will therefore benefit all 520 of Meadow’s dairy farmers, regardless of their specific contract.
It takes the firm’s price above 24ppl.
Executive chairman Simon Chantler said: “We will continue to work hard to sustain and further improve on this price increase but our best efforts will not be sufficient to achieve this unless the market as a whole moves upwards.”
Meadow Foods has manufacturing sites in Chester, Peterborough and Yorkshire.
