Grassland Sheep Scheme pays out to Irish farmers
A total of €16 million (£13.3m) was paid to more than 27,000 flock owners who submitted applications for the Grassland Sheep Scheme, according to the Irish Farmers Journal.
The total number of applicants was 28,000, with errors currently holding up unpaid cases. The payment to individual flock owners is based on an average of 2009 and 2010 flock numbers in the annual sheep census.
