According to Syngenta oilseed rape manager, Simon Parker, since Amistar (azoxystrobin) generates higher yields through prolonged green leaf retention and an increase in oil content of seed, growers are assured of a profit – even if there is little or no sclerotinia risk or other disease pressure.

Mr Parker calculates growers will need a yield increase of around 0.1 t/ha to cover the cost of Amistar at 0.8 l/ha.

Oilseed rape growers have until April 9 to register for the guarantee, available for fields of over five hectares (12 acres) treated with Amistar or an approved Amistar tank mix, validated against an untreated part of the field. Terms and conditions apply.
