Gearing up for biggest YFC weekend of the year
BLACKPOOL beware. With one week to go until around 5,000 YFC members head to the seaside resort, this year’s Young Farmers’ AGM is promising to be the biggest and best yet.
The first bank Holiday weekend in May will see more than 45 counties represented by thousands of members from individual clubs across the country.

As the biggest event on the YFC calendar, there will be a number of key events held over the course of three-day event, all of which will be balanced with the usual social mix of disco, live bands and the odd cheeky Snakebite.
This year’s theme is ‘superheroes’ and as members put their final touches to their costumes, others are preparing for the four major national competition finals that are set to take place in Blackpool’s Winter Gardens, including Senior Member of the Year, Strictly Ballroom and Pantomine, which welcomes a particularly large number of junior members.
With regional rounds for the competitions haven taken place over the last few months, the extremely high standards mean there is everything to play for.

BETTER late than never is a phrase which seems oddly appropriate when applied to British farming at the moment.
