Free water quality advice

FARMERS in the Pow Beck catchment of the River Wampool are being offered free advice through a new water quality project.

The Environment Agency will pay for Cumbrian farmers in the Pow Beck catchment area to have an initial consultation with farm adviser Ian Wrigley, who will identify where further work or advice is needed. This could include soil, slurry and manure analysis, soil management planning or a review of slurry storage and handling facilities in order to comply with new NVZ regulations.
