Chelford auction’s five-year plan to move
CHELFORD Agricultural Centre could be on the move within the next five years.
Space constraints within the existing site and redevelopment plans by a neighbouring national haulage firm for its own site, have spurred the Trustees of the Chelford Agricultural Centre to commission HOW Planning to submit a planning application for the redevelopment of the auction centre site.
New location
If successful, the business will be looking for a new location – preferably a greenfield site.
Frank Marshall and Co own and operate the auctioneering business and lease the Agricultural Centre from the trustees of the site, and from Cheshire East Council. Livestock accounts for about 40 per cent of the increasingly diverse sales business.
Partner in Marshalls, Gwyn Williams, said the intention was to expand and drive the business forward for the future. Construction of a new centre on a new site would require outside investment.
