Cereals 2010: JCB introduces Fastrac Xtra
JCB has tweaked its Fastrac range to create the 3200 and 3230 Xtra models, bringing a single specification to replace the previous Standard and Plus versions.
Top of the agenda for the Xtra series is JCB’s 24-speed P-Tronic transmission, as found in the larger 7000-series. P-Tronic offers cruise control and full auto-shifting functions, along with Xtra-Drive which enables the tractor to be driven like an automatic car, simply by using the brake pedal and avoiding the need to use the clutch pedal, says the company.
Inside the cab, operators get the same armrest and joystick control as found in 7000- and 8000-series Fastracs, while a user-selectable power boost now enables the him to choose between power and economy modes – the latter boosts the 200hp 3200 Xtra up to 230hp, while the 230hp 3230 Xtra peaks at 270hp, in the top two gears.
