Writtle College campus is a unique place. It is set in its own 220 hectare estate with landscaped gardens, working animal units, construction areas, an equine training and development centre, and 135 hectares of College estate devoted to farming practices and production.
There is a lively community atmosphere on campus, with students from over 50 different countries. There is a real community atmosphere on campus, where strong bonds of friendship are made and our students are all known as individuals. Students come from up to 40 different countries to study at Writtle, which makes the student village a lively, cosmopolitan place to be. Through our links with academic institutions across the world, our students gain an international perspective on their studies, as well as opportunities to travel abroad.
Courses
Writtle College prides itself on the quality of its courses. Our classrooms do not have walls. Most students spend a large proportion of their course time outdoors, using the diversity of natural and built environments on campus for case study work, practical learning and hands-on work experience and business training.

Agriculture Courses
Agriculture courses at Writtle College equip our students with the skills and knowledge necessary for rewarding careers in the agricultural sector and related industries. You will be taught by well-qualified and conscientious staff who have a wealth of knowledge and experience. Courses make extensive use of our 220 hectare estate which includes a College Farm as well as a variety of exciting off-site study opportunities.
Equine Courses
Equine courses at Writtle College are delivered by friendly and approachable teaching staff who are highly regarded within the industry, with several members of the team involved in research and consultancy for key organisations such as the British Equestrian Federation and the British Horse Society. Key figures from such organisations regularly contribute to lecture programmes and events.

We are urgently developing research requirements with other European laboratories to make sure we understand and the disease (Schmallenberg) better.
